Autumn 2023 Schutzhund / IGP Trial

Our Autumn 2023 trial was held on a cold and snowy Sunday, November 26, 2023. GSDCA Judge Mike Karlov  was with us to officiate. The Club celebrated several new titles:  Vader vom Aldamar (Tucker) passed his BH. He was handled by Tom Heilwagen  Yersinnia von Haus Nicholas passed her IBGH1. She was handled by Nick Choukas  Halina Wirtanen's Aatos von Flusswald passed his IGP1 as did his sister Astrid von Flusswald who was handled by Ray Silvertrust. Uschi vom Mittelwest III who was handled by Chris Schneider passed her IGP3 for the second time with an almost perfect score in tracking as well as good scores in the other disciplines.

 

After the protection work was complete, Judge Karlov complimented our trial helpers Chris Schneider and Ray Silverrust for their fair and uniform work which was a pleasure to watch

 

Summer 2023 Schutzhund / IGP Trial

Our Summer 2023 trial was held on August 5-6, 2023. GSDCA Performance Judge Mike Karlov was with us to officiate. The Club celebrated three new titles:  Uschi vom Mittelwest III received her IGP II and Aatos von Flusswald and Yersinnia von Haus Nicholas received BHs. The dogs were all handled by their owners, Uschi was handled by Christoph Schneider, Aatos by Halina Wirtanen and Yersinnia by Nick Choukas.

 

Summer 2022 Schutzhund / IGP Trial

Our Summer 2022 trial was held on June 18, 2022. SV Judge Bogdan Sergo was with us to officiate. The Club celebrated several new titles:  Uschi vom Mittelwest III, Lexa vom Bonham, Astrid von Flusswald, U-Liv vom Mittelwest and Granville's Fun Size (Gus) all received BHs. The dogs were all handled by their owners, Uschi was handled by Christoph Schneider, Lexa by Natalia Noffs, Astrid by Ray Silvertrust, U-Liv by Seth Sankary and Gus by Ksenia Banes. In addition, Uschi, U-Liv and Astrid passed the endurance test and received their ADs.

At last year's show, the temperature reached 100° F Not this year, temps were barely above freezing, of course, it was late November in Chicagoland. On Saturday, November 23, the 2019 Midwest Conformation Championship Show was held. SV Judge and Körmeister (Breed Survey Master) Ulrich Hausmann, who comes from the German town of Wermelskirchen located not too far from Cologne, officiated. Several club dogs participated in the show. Among them were Ray Silvertrust's Astrid von Flusswald, who was in the 6-9 Month Old Female Puppy Class. Halina Wirtanen's Aatos von Flusswald and Andrius Arbatauskas' Santo von Flusswald were both in the 6-9 Month Old Male Puppy Class.  Other club dogs taking part included Natasha Noff's Lexa von Bonham in the 12-18 Female Class and Seth Warichak's Nidas von der Stadtrand in the 12-18 Month Males and Lauren Piculell's Cookie von der Stadtrand in the Open Class Females. In the Working Class Females Ray Silvertrust's Milla von Dragalevtzi received a V rating. His Dancer II von Arlett went V2 in the Working Class Males and became 2019 Midwest Region Vize Sieger. Chris Schneider's Luke vom Polarkreis was V1 in the Long Coat Male Working Class. At the breed survey Ray Silvertrust's Dancer II von Arlett obtained his first KKL breeding suitability rating.

 

Herr Hausmann complimented the Club on a very smooth and well run show. As always, this was the result of many club members working very hard to make it happen. Helping with registration were Halina Wirtanen, Izabela Raczynski-Bell and Carolyn Kurt. Jim Wirtanen handled refreshments, Halina Wirtanen and Seth Warichak served as our ever efficient ring stewards, overseeing trophies, show cards, chip reading and several other necessary tasks.  Chris Schneider served as translator. Halina Wirtanen and Izabela Raczynski-Bell took photos for us. Andrius Arbatauskas, Jason Bell, Seth Warichak and Chris Schneider all helped with the field setup. Thanks also to Andrius Arbatauskas who was our GSDCA Certified Helper for the breed survey and was praised for his fine work by Herr Hausmann

Our Autumn 2019 trial was held on October 25-27, 2019. SV Judge Heinrich Balonier, who comes from the German town of Grossostheim near Frankfurt. was with us to officiate. The Club celebrated several new titles:  Yako z Kojca Holan (Apollo) passed his BGH2. He was handled by Izabela Raczynski-Bell.  Halina Wirtanen's Isen von der Stadtrand obtained two new titles Fpr3(Tracking) and also his Spr2 (Protection). Ray Silvertrust's Dancer II von Arlett (Danny) obtained his IGP3 and in so doing set a club record--from BH to IGP3 in only 18 months. Danny is only 2˝ years old!

 

Herr Balonier noted that our field, which was prepared by Seth Warichak, Halina Wirtanen, Izabela Raczynski-Bell Chuck Noffs and Ray Silvertrust was comparable to and set up like some of the best clubs he judges at in Germany. After the protection work was complete, Herr Balonier complimented our trial helpers Seth Warichak and Andrius Arbatauskas for their fair and uniform work which he said was on a par with the helpers he sees in Germany.

 

Late Spring 2019 Schutzhund / IGP Trial

Our Late Spring 2019 trial was held on June 9, 2019. SV Judge Thomas Knote, who comes from the German city of Hamburg, was with us to officiate. The Club celebrated several new titles:  Corina vom Mittelwest handled by Jill Kennelly and Cookie von der Stadtrand handled by Lauren Piculell both passed their BHs. Halina Wirtanen's Isen von der Stadtrand passed the IGP1, Ray Silvertrust's Dancer II von Arlett (Danny) obtained his IGP2 and Chris Schneider's Luke vom Polarkreis passed his IGP3. Last but not least, Lauren Piculell's Reinhard von der Stadtrand (Stash) passed the SPr2.

 

Herr Knote noted that our field, which was prepared by Seth Warichak, Halina Wirtanen, Jill Kennelly, Izabela Raczynski-Bell Chuck Noffs and Ray Silvertrust was comparable to and set up like some of the best clubs he judges at in Germany.
