We are a dog training club (Verein is German for Association or Club) located in Glenview, Illinois--a near north suburb of Chicago. Schutzhund is the German sport which combines Tracking, Obedience and Protection Work. In Germany, no German Shepherd puppy can be registered or entered in a conformation show unless both parents have a Schutzhund title. This is because the founder of our breed, Captain Max von Stephanitz, wanted to insure that German Shepherd Dogs, first and foremost, remained working dogs. "No intelligence, no German Shepherd Dog." We train in schutzhund and also International (German) style conformation show training. |
